"I'm all right!"
but GOD SAYS...“There is none righteous, no, not one,” Romans 3:10
Jesus Christ said, “there is none good but one, that is, God.” Mark 10:18 But God offers ‘salvationto every one that believeth’ Romans 1:16 The truth is we’re not ‘all right’ we are ‘all wrong.’ The bible calls it unrighteous. When a person is wrong the next day they could be right. But before God we can never make ourselves right because we are legally guilty of sin. We have all sinned in practice and need forgiveness. That might be hard to swallow but God says, ‘all have sinned,’ Rom 3:23. One reason we avoid this subject is that we enjoy the pleasure sin brings and don’t want God to interfere.
We want God to interfere in other people's lives and to intervene when things go wrong we don't like but we don't want God in our own lives. Sadly that is also a symptom of our rebellious heart. Yet God commends His love to us and wants to save us and enjoy a relationship with us eternally. This is eternal life. We know sin bring’s pain, even death and many try to dull the pain with alcohol, money, drugs or even religion for temporary relief. Trying to convince yourself there is no God is like pretending you are not ill when the doctor gives his expert diagnosis. Some want God to accept them on their terms stating, “I am good enough, I help people, go to church and have no criminal history. But those good works don’t cancel out your sins and if you die thinking you are ‘all right’ it is the worst mistake you can make because God’s wrath is unavoidable in Hell forever. Today God’s love and mercy offers forgiveness because Christ died for our sins to make us right for Heaven. It is not about what YOU DO but depending on Christ and what HE DID on the cross. It’s time to ‘get right’ with God. ‘Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved.’ Acts 16:31 |
