Atheism is a bridge broken at both ends...
To claim 'I don't believe in God' is actually to claim a belief. You believe that God doesn't exist but even the most ardent atheist including Mr Dawkins himself cannot say 'I can prove there is no God.' It is simply your belief your faith and could I add an unwillingness to believe the evidence that there is a God. So the bridge is broken where it starts because the theory you have constructed can never be proven to be true and therefore will always remain a mere belief with no greater foundation than someone saying I believe that pigs can fly. Many atheists have never stopped to ask themselves, how do I know there is no God, can I be sure? The reason they don't is because really an atheist is not someone who rejects the notion of God but actually doesn't want to believe in God even if God tapped them on the shoulder. They don't want to be accountable to a creator.
that there is no God proves nothing. It is also a bridge broken at the other end because it also answers nothing. No God is not a satisfactory answer as to why we are all here even talking about God in the first place. It doesn't answer the question as to how we got here or why we are what we are, morally conscious beings with a conscience and an ability to love, to give animals and plants a name and identity to name but a few unique characteristics. What was the cause of it all. There is a cause for the wind to blow, a cause for a baby to be born, a cause for a person to die but what is the cause of it all? Atheism is not new, the bible says in Psalm 14, "the fool hat said in his heart there is no God" But Daniel says, "there is a God in Heaven"
